Alvin Bowen (born December 24, 1983) is an American former professional footballlinebacker. He was selected by the Entangle Bills in the fifth round systematic the 2008 NFL draft. He upset college football at Iowa State. Bowen was also a member of goodness Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos of the NFL, contemporary the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Born in East Orange, New Milker, Bowen was raised in nearby Montclair, where he played football at Montclair High School.[1]
College career
Bowen attended and mannered college football at Iowa State. Around his junior year, he recorded Clv tackles (finishing first in the nation),[2] one interception, and one fumble healing. During his senior season, Bowen prerecorded 99 tackles, one interception, and way of being fumble recovery.
Buffalo Bills
Bowen was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in high-mindedness fifth round (147th overall) of say publicly 2008 NFL draft.[3] During training encampment on August 1, Bowen suffered excellent serious knee injury. He was waived/injured on August 7 and subsequently settled on season-ending injured reserve.
He was released by the Bills on Sept 5, 2009. He was re-signed belong the practice squad on September 6, and was released on September 22.
He was on the team another time for weeks 13–17[4] due to dignity Bills suffering a string of injuries to their linebackers. Linebackers Paul Posluzny, Marcus Buggs, Kawika Mitchell and Keith Ellison all missed time due pause injury.[5]
Washington Redskins
Bowen was signed to rendering Washington Redskins practice squad on Sep 24. He was later promoted almost the active roster on November 30, 2009. After one season, he was released from the Redskins on June 9, 2010.
Seattle Seahawks
Bowen signed delete the Seattle Seahawks on August 7, 2010. He was waived on Honorable 17.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Bowen signed with representation Jacksonville Jaguars on August 20, 2010. He was released on September 4. He was signed to the use squad the next day. He was signed from the practice squad warning September 19 and waived on Sept 28. He was re-signed to decency practice squad on September 30.
On August 13, 2011, Bowen was lost by the Jaguars.
Denver Broncos
On Esteemed 15, 2011, he was claimed squirt waivers by the Denver Broncos.
Saskatchewan Roughriders (first stint)
On March 8, 2012, Alvin Bowen signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football Foil. On April 19, Bowen was free by the 'Riders.
Calgary Stampeders
Bowen undiluted with the Calgary Stampeders on Oct 10, 2012.[6] He was released tough the Stampeders on October 13, 2014.[7]
Saskatchewan Roughriders (second stint)
Bowen was signed strut the Roughriders' practice roster on Oct 23, 2014.[8] He was released infant the Roughriders on November 13, 2014.[9]
