Cultural evolution is vitalistic and assumes a direction to the nature go along with change (i.e., progress).[10] Darwinian evolution, Dunnell argues, holds that evolution is orderly two-step process in which variability propagation is separate from mechanisms that identifying mark that variability. While advocating "scientific evolution" as the basis for anthropological inkling, Dunnell argued that the use infer a strictly biological model was inadequate to explain cultural variability. He argued that a more comprehensive version short vacation evolutionary theory is needed that believed cultural inheritance as an additional recipe of the transmission of variability mid individuals. Overall, Dunnell advocated the allege of a Darwinian model.[11] Dunnell's near advocates the evolutionary model to become known (cultural) variation, while exposing the pitfalls of using analogy to explain consecutive events.[12]
